The Possession movie ending is intense. We never suspect the twist ending until we see the scene unfold. It is not your typical exorcism movie ending. However, The Possession ending is well executed. If you haven't watched The Possession movie, beware that we are spoiling the movie end.

In The Possession movie, we have a happy ending. It appears that way, especially when we see Clyde joining his family again. Em's possession represents a conflict that resolves the broken bond
Tzadok drives down the street in Clyde's BMW. He calls Clyde to return the car. Clyde tells Tzadok to keep the car. He has immediate plans to leave home.
Obviously, the demonic possession experience reunites the family. We find the happy ending short lived. The quiet residential street seems suspicious. Nobody is around. It is too calm.
Tzadok is driving with the Dibbuk box next to him. At the end of the street, a truck crushes the BMW. There is nothing remaining of the luxury car. Tzadok dies instantly in a tragic accident.
People try to help. Hebrew chanting fills the space. We pan down the street, where car debris line the road. The female chanting gets louder until we see the wooden Dibbuk box again.
Why did the Dibbuk box survive? If you remember back to the exorcism scene, Tzadok forgets to put the ring into the box. The ring is the first possession Em removes from the box and places on her finger. It is the most important possession inside the Dibbuk box. He leaves the ring outside of the box. The exorcism fails because all possessions are supposed to be replaced.
The Dibbuk box will continue to terrorize people again. It may make its way back to an older Em. The demon spirit is so evil, it can find Em in any place. Another person will open the demon box to unleash the evil spirit.
