The Possession introduced moviegoers to Abyzou, a female demon who is believed to be the taker of children. This malevolent female demon spirit possesses vulnerable children referred to as pure and weak.
In the Possession climatic scene, Abyzou is shown in real form. We see the Abyzou spirit leave Clyde's mouth to reenter the demon box.
Abizou's history goes far back to historical times, possibly the Sumerian times. Abyzou possessed Em because the young girl is trusting as well as pure.
Young girls are not compromised or influenced by society. This Abyzou female demon never experienced birth, so she wreaks havoc on children.
If Em was an older adolescent or young woman, she would question the Dibbuk box. The old woman in the opening scene refuses to open the demon box. As a result, Abyzou kills her. Abyzou is extremely evil, a trait she takes from her bitter past.
