The Best Demonic Possession Movies: What are the best Demonic Possession Movies?

The Devil Inside movie surprised the movie world with $34.5 million in box office receipts. Demonic possession movies frighten people because it is possible that demons can enter the human body through possession. The very thought of multiple demonic possession is identified as "The Great Exorcism" since there are several demons that must be casted out. What are the best demonic possession movies?

Good demonic possession movies make for a scary movie experience. Moviegoers will find that covering their eyes will not get rid of the demonic image stained in the mind. The demonic image is there to remain a figment of your imagination until the next frightening horror movie replaces it. The best demonic possession movies project good horror onto the silver screen.

The Exorcist (1973) is one of the best demonic possession movies ever released into movie theaters. The Exorcist movie plot explores the last exorcism performed in the United States in 1949 on a boy. The screenwriter changed the boy to a young girl (Linda Blaire). The Exorcist movie is one of the earliest exorcism movies to explore an exorcist performing an exorcism.

The Exorcist movie is known in Hollywood history as one of the most scariest horror films of all time. The young girl vomits green liquid, twists her head around, levitates, displays super strength, talks in ancient tongue, and reveals clairvoyant powers to confirm the four signs of demonic possession. We see a young innocent girl transform into an evil demon, and then back into a little girl again.

Another good exorcist movie is The Exorcism of Emily Rose. The Emily Rose character depicts the exorcism of Anneliese Michel in 1975. The exorcism movie covers an exorcism murder trial based on the actual events in the 1978 Anneliese Michel exorcism murder case. Emily has visions of her eventual death, which is also consistent with Anneliese Michel's final death prediction. The exorcism court case is rather interesting, showing the combination of legal, science and religion opposing one another.

The Rite is one of the best demonic possession movies. Anthony plays an priest/exorcist who performs exorcisms on those who request his help to cast out demons. However, a young priest rejects any notion that there is such thing as demonic possession. The young priest must perform an exorcism on a priest to believe in the Devil's evil. Essentially, denying the Devil is deemed as rejecting faith in God. The Rite follows two exorcisms to demonstrate the power of demonic possession.

The Devil Inside movie is a good exorcist movie which delivers one of the best demonic possession movies into a documentary style film. Moviegoers question the realism in the exorcisms as well as in the 1989 Maria Rossi murder case. The 1989 911 call shares an audio recording that seems authentic. The emergency call audio tape becomes murder evidence to institutionalize Maria Rossi. In any case, the 1989 Maria Rossi murder depicted in the demonic possession movie is nonetheless fake. The London newspaper newspaper reports on a Maria Rossi adolescent murdering her elderly neighbor, but no other Maria Rossi case files are nowhere to be found except on The Rossi Files.

Whereas The Devil Inside movie has a bad movie ending, the setup and development are effective in hooking the audience. The multiple demonic possession concept is scary but intriguing. The exorcists performing the real life exorcisms on Anneliese Michel discovered more than a dozen demons trapped in the young woman's body. In The Devil Inside movie, the Maria Rossi exorcism revealed four demons.

Filming the exorcisms exposed the occupants to demonic possession. Isabella Rossi suffered from multiple demonic possession soon after David commits an insidious act under the influence of one evil demon. The Maria Rossi exorcism is one of those intense exorcism scenes. The exorcism explores the best demonic possession depiction in a documentary film. Hence, the Devil Inside is one of the better demon possession movies (minus the movie ending) to be released in the movie box office.

The Exorcist: The Beginning is an excellent exorcist movie which explains the foundation of the first exorcism movie, The Exorcist. We see the past archaeology excavation, fully understanding that the transfer of demons is possible through an evil artifact. We also witness a horrific scene in which a group of hyenas or wolves rip apart the flesh of a young boy. The possessed brother freezes in some sort of trance, unable to snap out of the traumatic moment to save his older brother. The pack attack is a grizzly scene, conveying that anything bad is possible in the face of the Devil.

In the last scene, the priest/exorcist must perform an exorcism on a woman in a dark cave. She says the nastiest things to interfere with the priest's faith. Demons enjoy dark regions because their evil can manifest. The demonic possessed woman could bend her joints, crawl on the rock ceiling, and change her face into an evil demon. The scene makes many moviegoers feel claustrophobic in the narrow dark cave. The Exorcist: The Beginning is one of the best demonic possession movies.

The best demonic possession movies include The Exorcist (1973), The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Rite, The Devil Inside, and The Exorcist: The Beginning. Notable mentions for the best demonic possession movies list are The Unborn, Rec 2, The Exorcist 2, The Exorcist 3, and The Skeleton Key. Rent a good demonic possession movie to entertain your Friday the 13th, 2012 night!
